TV Writer's Strike, Creation of the Word and The Torah

The Hollywood writer's strike continues with the primary negotiation issue focused on the creation of the word and residual rights. Why include this labor dispute in the blog? How does it relate to the Sinai Live initiative? Things were so much more simpler back in Biblical times. WWMD-- What Would Moses Do? Should the Moses family receive a royalty for Ten Commandment use and re-use? The Burning Bush has appeared in a ton of places over the past 3000 years. Are Prophets due back-end profits? What about all of the Mishnah and Gammara late nights? There was no Rabbinical union for writers. These are all important modernTalmudic questions!!!

Why have we included this Daily Show video in Sinai Live? Are we just trying to create general appeal? We admit --It may me a giant stretch-- In part, we miss the Daily Stewart/Colbert Ritual before reciting the Sh'ma. The video below is funny, provocative and must have some relevant implications. The strike is not a coincidence and may be a great audience opportunity for Sinai Live-- to reach a coveted target group of knowledge seekers who reject reruns. Also, Sinai Live could fill a content void and gain a Late Night or Prime Time slot. We have mixed feelings on when it should all be resolved. Our thoughts and prayers are with the writer's and their families.

Hineni Webcast and Weekly Parsha

Last night, we formally launched the Hineni Thursday night Webcast and had over 100 unique visitors. This a great beginning. We limited access due to our technicals concerns. With Hashem's help, it all worked with a high quality video streaming signal. We are now planning a big roll-out.
We will take a break for the Thanksgiving weekend but will pick up in full-force with weekly Thursday Parsha and special Live Chanukah events. Listen to the Rebbetzin's exraordinary wisdom below or or cick to the inspirational weekly parsha class on Sinai Live's new website.

RH Girl

We are on a mission to locate and showcase multi-media material that connects and inspires the Jewish community. We are searching for engaging teachers, events, movies, songs, videos, websites or other compelling formats. Please submit suggestions as we compile a top ten list of favorite picks.

For the high holidays, a new video was released by Birthright that caught our attention. Millions will eventually see it although we do not want the song to end up in our prayer liturgy.
WARNING--The video contains a woman singing with notraditional dress. We are showcasing RH Girl because it offers an engaging message about coming home for the holidays.
